Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji Itadori’s Abnormal Physiology

Yuji Itadori has always been a naturally gifted athlete with impressive physical abilities. He would stand apart from his peers and can take anyone by surprise if they underestimated him. So, even before he had become the host for Sukuna, the King of Curses, after swallowing the rotten fingers, Yuji was already exceptional. However, it was never his plan to become a sorcerer. But since he has the misfortune of being a host of a powerful Curse, he is forced to learn how he can control such a devastating curse power.

When Yuji had swallowed the cursed fingers, he was then taken to the Metropolitan Magic Technical College in Tokyo. There were plans for preparations for his exorcism, which meant a death sentence for both Sukuna and Yuji. However, the death sentence was later postponed to ensure that he had ingested all the curses before he was executed. Once he accomplished the task, his execution would mean the end of Yuji and the powerful Curse. It was a way of ensuring that the Curse never returned, which sounds logical. However, it was a surprising turn of events for the teenager who only joined the Occult Club to avoid the track team.

Now, Yuji is someone who would sacrifice himself for the sake of others any day. He values other people’s lives, and therefore, it is not surprising that he did not run away from the challenge put in front of him, even though it meant that he would eventually die. But only good intentions are not enough to get rid of and control the most powerful Curse in existence. Yuji’s natural athleticism and abnormal physiology made him the ideal person for this task. Today we look at the factors that made him the right person for hosting the King of Curses.

Quick Learner

Yuji, just like any other quick learner, is good at asking the right questions. Not only that, he had the patience and dedication that one needs to commit oneself to learn new concepts. He ensures that he has a clear understanding of events by frequently asking questions to his instructor. He also has an uncanny ability to master new things in little time. It was because of these qualities that he learned to use the Slaughter Demon blade so fast. If it hadn’t been for Yuji’s quick learning, he would have struggled to use the new curse powers.

Hand-to-Hand Combat

Yuji is a highly-skilled fighter that is well-trained in many ancient techniques that make him exceptional. The art of Taido Martial Arts along with Knee Release help him do a Manji Kick. The knee, hip, and shoulder release all combine to make him a fantastic fighter. He can kick his opponent’s head with ease; moreover, the Cursed Spirits can be physically harmed once he combines Cursed Energy with Manji Kick. His outstanding control over his body and assessment of the fights makes him exceptional in hand-to-hand combat.

Superhuman Abilities

Although Yuji truly became a force of nature after ingesting cursed fingers, he was quite exceptional even before that. He could run 50 meters in just three seconds, bend a soccer post, and throw a lead ball. All of these things were almost impossible for a typical teenager his age. But not for Yuji, who was naturally gifted. It was his unique and abnormal physiology that made him an ideal vessel for Sukuna. It would have been tough to find any other teenager who could have controlled their body after swallowing that cursed finger. Once he became a host to the King of Curses, his gifts only increased. Now he could easily compete with the sorcerers and even regenerate his body parts. All of this was made possible by Yuji’s superhuman abilities that he was born with.

Control Over Cursed Energy

Yuji’s naturally gifted physical abilities and quick learning skills combine to grant him control over Cursed Energy. Moreover, his martial arts skills come in handy when he combines them with his newly found powers to hurt his adversaries. If it hadn’t been for his great control, he would have never used techniques like Black Flash. Yuji mastered Cursed Energy very quickly to use it to his advantage.

Poison Resistance

Ever since he became host to the King of Curses, he became resistant to all kinds of poison. However, he does feel the pain that the poison causes, but he suffers no further internal damage. So, Yuji can’t be killed using poison. There are still several possibilities that can’t be ruled out because there are a total of 20 Sukuna fingers. As he consumes more fingers, Yuji will get access to more powers and abilities to significantly improve his fighting prowess.

But there is still the danger of Sukuna gaining control over Yuji’s body, which might turn out to be very dangerous. Sukuna has already done it in the past, so there is always a possibility that it will happen in the future. It will be interesting to see how Yuji can withstand Sukuna’s attempts and what happens when he has already consumed all the cursed fingers.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The rise of Mahito and his strange powers

A lot has been happening in the Jujutsu Kaisen’s sorcerer world. On the one hand, Itadori’s return has created a spark in the Curses, and on the other, the mysterious appearance of Mahito is creating unrest in society.

After brutally killing three high school students, Mahito, a fear-based Curse, plans something sinister with his gruesome ability to transfigure humans. As part of Itadori’s new training, after he came back from the dead, he might come face-to-face with Mahito soon.

To make matters worse, Mahito’s ability to kill humans sparked an interest in a young high school outcast, Junpei Yoshino. After being bullied by classmates, Junpei Yoshino aims to become stronger, and he is not hesitant to take shortcuts.

After meeting with Mahito, Junpei’s interest reaches its peak. In search of new powers and to punish his tormentors, Junpei follows Mahito’s sweet talk that’ll lead him to utter destruction. While blindly following Mahito and his plans, Junpei finds himself in a pawn-like situation.

The transfigured humans

Before Itadori can return to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, Nanami trains him to fight S-class curses. While training, both Itadori and Nanami end up following a pair of enemies on the top of a local building.

During the fight, Nanami’s technique allows him to mark weak points on the first monster, and he kills him in a single strike, and the Itadori’s improvised Divergent Fist defeats the second monster. During the fight, the sorcerers presumed the deformed monsters to be Curses. Sadly, Nanami’s eventual realization about humans’ curses leaves Itadori devastated as he might have accidentally killed a human being.

Ieiri Shoko, the local doctor of Jujutsu Tech’s, confirms Nanami’s theory about the curses being humans and shares the insight that the two curses Nanami and Itadori killed were once human. She also informs them about a unique type of Curse that alters the human body and infuses them with large amounts of curse energy, making them disfigured cursed monsters.

Itadori’s consciousness takes over him as he might have killed a human, upon which Shoko explains that both the monsters were already dead before the Curse turned them into Curse energy monsters. However, Itadori is still not convinced as the thought of killing a fellow human takes over him and intensifies his anger and hatred towards Cursed Spirits.

Mahito’s future plans with Junpei

Junpei’s desperate attempts to learn Cursed Techniques leads him into a deep abyss of a bottomless pit. When Junpei witnesses the massacre of his school bullies, he inadvertently falls in love with Curse Techniques, and he voluntarily accepts whatever his new mentor, Mahito, teaches him about Curses.

Mahito explains his origin, and he also unravels how his existence is a direct outcome of Junpei’s fear and hatred towards his bullies. He describes the different kinds of curses and how they use Curse energy to kill their targets. All of this energy chatter captivated Junpei’s interest in Curses even more.

While it is evident that Mahito will soon use Junpei to his advantage, Mahito’s goal to eradicate the human species will not spare Junpei out of the fire he has ignited.

Conclusion

The upcoming episode of Jujutsu Kaisen will highlight Mahito’s next move and how he will use his new pawn, Junpei. While Nanami intends to safeguard Itadori from this high-grade Curse, he plans on fighting Mahito on his own while Itadori will protect Junpei’s life from the likes of Mahito. The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen is coming to its end, and by the looks of it, Mahito might be the primary antagonist of this season.

Jujutsu Kaisen: 5 Hidden Secrets About Yuji Itadori’s Body

Eating the sacred finger of an S-class Cursed Spirit not only made him a scapegoat for Sukuna, but Itadori also gained tremendous powers and a new life, which is full of adventures and frequent deaths!

After accidentally swallowing the rotting finger of Sukuna, the rookie student turned Jujutsu sorcerer, became a vessel for the King of Curses. However, as per the manga, Itadori was already a strong and fearless human being from the start.

Even before he shared his body with Sukuna, Itadori possessed superhuman strength and apelike athletics capabilities. While he always had the upper hand in terms of willpower and physical abilities, he gracefully controlled the pressure of being the vessel for Sukuna after eating two of his fingers.

After Satoru Gojo explains his current situation, Itadori’s survival options come down to being killed now or killed later. Out of the two, Itadori chose the second option, and he joined the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College as a first-year student.

Poison doesn’t affect him at all

After becoming Sukuna’s vessel for eternity, Itadori gained some tremendous powers, including resistance to poison. In the fight against student turned Curse User Junpei Yoshino,  Itadori received a life-threatening attack from Junpe. Although the Moon Dregs’ poison attack inflicted Yuji’s, he didn’t die from it and fought back.

Itadori is a martial artist

Before and after joining the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, Itadori had always been a martial artist. That is why he was able to fight hand-to-hand combat against small and high-grade curses. In episode 9, he develops his personalized punching techniques that kill the curses with two layers of force.

Yuji is a smart student

Itadori has always been a smart student, and he was obliged and respectful to his teachers from his former school to the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College. He always asks questions, seeks answers, and stays open-minded to learn more about his body, Sukuna, Jujutsu sorcerers, and Curses.

Itadori had superhuman strength

Before becoming Sukuna’s vessel, Itadori was gifted with superhuman strength, speed, and endurance. During his former school days, he was unbeatable in sports and physical activities. In the first episode, Itadori’s superhuman powers were visible where he could bend a soccer post and sprint 50 meters in just three seconds. Swallowing Sakun’s finger only increased his superhuman powers and made him a powerful Jujutsu sorcerer.

Sukuna controls Itadori heart

While the revival of Sukuna made him the strongest Curse in the world, Itadori was fighting within him to take control over his body. After taking out Itadori’s heart, Sukuna tries to kill him by squeezing his heart out of the chest.

After Itadori’s alleged death, Sukuna and Yuji form a pact where Sukuna will keep Itadori’s heart alive to give him control for a few minutes now and then.
